Our preschool children went for a walk with the forest school recently and learned about how the cold weather hinders a birds ability to find food.
When we arrived we spread lard on cardboard tubes then rolled them in seeds to make bird feeders.
The children then chose a perfect spot and with help hung them on the trees for the birds.
It was a lot of fun going on our trip into nature and the children clearly got a lot out of the visit.
The forest school visits are done regularly by the nursery as the changing of the seasons means it is a different experience every time.
