Our topic for May is Shapes and Numbers and we have many exciting activities planned to encourage shape and number recognition. We will support this topic on numeracy day, 19th May, by helping the children boost their numeracy and number confidence through making number biscuits and going on a shape hunt!
We will be singing numbers songs and counting all the different objects inside and out in our wonderful garden!
The children have also been busy out in the garden learning all about how things grow and planting their flowers and vegetables in our vegetable patch. We have also been on active “Spring Watch” as not only do we have a blackbird nesting in our bug hotel outside the baby room but we also have a robin setting up home outside the 1-2s room on top of the cupboard!
We are stimulating and promoting the children’s curiosity by emphasizing the potential of the vintage pieces of household tools and equipment that can be found around the home to boost their curiosity.
